Welcome to Robins...

Welcome to Robins - our Early Years class. Pre-school and Reception children share the learning environment although learning is carefully planned to meet the developmental needs of all learners. Robins have a beautiful, purpose-built classroom looking out onto our sensory garden and school field. Children have free-flow access to the decking area throughout the school day and we regularly access the school grounds, including the sensory garden and Forest School area. We have a cosy sensory area for children who need to rest or sleep.

At Snape Pre-School we are committed to do the very best for every child. We strive to provide an excellent, enabling learning environment which is child-centred and captures the imagination and curiosity of childhood.  We believe child-initiated play supports children to develop their own ideas and be in control of their own learning journey. We support, extend and develop children’s learning through high-quality adult interactions.

Mindful assessment and planning ensures that children also participate in some adult-led activities to support their next steps - supporting them to make progress and feel successful. Children engage in some structured learning during the week, including Forest School, Music and Story Dough. Story Dough promotes early Literacy through the development of vocabulary and mark making. Early Maths is supported through every day routines, a carefully curated learning environment and some structured activities. We love to explore the outdoors, sing and get messy! 

We are fully inclusive and use a wide range of strategies to support and include all our children. All children are assessed using WellComm - a speech, language and communication tool. Any children requiring additional support will receive speech and language intervention from our specially trained staff.

The Pre-school is a teacher-led setting. Miss Kinrade teaches the class Monday - Wednesday morning. Miss Otter teaches the class Wednesday PM - Friday. We are supported throughout the week by fantastic support staff - Mrs Knights, Miss Stannard, Miss Girling and Miss Keeble.

 

• A morning session runs 8.30am - 11.30am
• An afternoon session runs 12.30pm to 3.30pm
• There is an option to include our lunch hour (11.30pm-12.30pm) and have either a delicious hot school meal or bring in your own packed lunch
• We also offer a full wrap around service from 8am to 5pm
• We have a range of funding options available
